Entry-Level Roles
Find your place on board.
You don't need experience to start - but you do need to pick the right lane. These are the six roles first-time crew actually get hired into.
Deckhand
Exterior maintenance, washdowns, tenders and watersports, lines and anchoring. The classic entry point for hands-on, outdoorsy people.
Steward / Stewardess
Interior service, guest care, table settings and cabin detail. Ideal if you come from hospitality or love five-star standards.
Chef
Galley, provisioning and menus for crew and guests. A land-based cooking background transfers well - yacht experience isn't expected at entry level.
Housekeeping / Spa
Cabins, laundry and wellness. A strong route in for detail-oriented people, especially on larger yachts with dedicated interior teams.
Watersports / PT
Jet skis, dive gear, toys and guest fitness. Instructors and qualified PTs can turn certifications into a niche on charter yachts.
Junior Engineer
Systems, maintenance and watchkeeping. Trade backgrounds (mechanical, electrical, marine) are highly valued even without yacht time.
